Our Story

Luke enrolled in an MBA program in Afghanistan but quickly dropped out after receiving his syllabus. He believed the best way to learn business was through hands-on experience.

After his deployment, Luke purchased an embroidery/sewing machine and 100 blank hats. Using PowerPoint to design the first logos, he taught himself embroidery and started selling the first HLE patch hats to friends, family, and a few people online, particularly Caleb.

With the support of Luke's wife & the HLE Team, the HUNT LIFT EAT Brand has flourished into what it is today.

We have ambitious plans for the future and greatly appreciate the daily support from the HUNT LIFT EAT community.

Our Vision & Mission

HUNT LIFT EAT is dedicated to promoting an active outdoor lifestyle centered around training, hunting, and fishing. We aim to educate and inspire individuals to pursue this lifestyle and build a community of outdoor enthusiasts who positively impact the outdoor world.

Our community consists of diverse individuals from various backgrounds. Recognizing the mental health challenges faced by veterans and civilians, we believe that hunting, fishing, and fitness can offer healing and camaraderie to people from all walks of life.

At HUNT LIFT EAT, we take responsibility for protecting our lifestyle through education, outreach, and conservation efforts.

Meet The Staff

Founder & CEO

Luke Cox

Luke grew up an Army brat, but his family's farms in Grayson County, VA were constants in his life. He spent his childhood camping, fishing, hiking, and hunting. He barely graduated from Virginia Tech in 2013, where he studied History & Appalachian Studies (super useful in the real world). He somehow commissioned as an Army Infantry Officer despite spending most of his time at Hokie House (local watering hole) or the tree stand.

During his second deployment to Afghanistan, he discovered powerlifting and competed in a couple Army competitions. On that deployment he started his MBA but dropped out the first day. Missing hunting season that deployment motivated him to take advantage of every opportunity to be in the woods & lit a spark that has since grown into an obsession. He figured the best way to learn business was to start one, so he launched HLE.

He lives with his beautiful wife Caroline in Colorado Springs, CO. They have a son, daughter, and two dogs.

He's 5'7 and thinks he's the boss.

COO

Charlie Carr

Charlie grew up in central Texas and spent his childhood playing baseball, camping, hiking, and fishing. He graduated from Baylor in 2017 where he studied Entrepreneurship and Corporate Innovation. Charlie commissioned as an Army Infantry Officer in 2017 and spent seven years as a paratrooper in Alaska and Louisiana.

During his time in Alaska, Charlie had the opportunity to hunt for black bear, caribou, duck, and upland game. When he wasn’t hunting or fishing for salmon, trout, or halibut, he was hiking, camping, lifting or trail running in the mountains.

He lives with his wife in Fort Collins, CO with their two labs, causing nothing but trouble.

Charlie is from Texas. So, he is better than you and he knows it.

Design & Merchandising, Women in the Wild Lead

Caroline Cox

Caroline grew up on a horse farm in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. She spent her childhood fishing, camping, hiking, and spending most of her free time in the outdoors.

Once Caroline met Luke, she quickly became immersed in the family deer camp and all things hunting. Caroline enjoys gardening, cooking, and physical fitness. She's an elementary school teacher by trade but left education to homeschool her children, Barrett and Ainsley.

Caroline handles design and merchandising for Hunt Lift Eat. She is also the HLE Women in the Wild team lead.

She's like a hillbilly Joanna Gaines.

Team Lead, Podcast Co-Host

Carter McKenzie

Carter grew up in North Georgia and from a young age had a passion for fishing and the outdoors. He was introduced to hunting as a freshman in college and had been hooked ever since. He has hunted in many states including black bear in Alaska, mule deer and antelope in Wyoming, ducks in Arkansas and North Dakota and most often, whitetail in his home state. With hunting has come a passion for cooking wild game and sharing it with others.

Carter is a high school history teacher in John’s Creek, Ga where he teaches AP US history, AP Psychology, and World History. He also coaches several sports including cross country, tennis, and swim team. He lives on a small farm with his wife and two daughters where gardening and self sufficiency are important.

Carter is the only dude who brings rosemary to deer camp.

We're not sure what Derick does here.

Derick Bosley

Derick grew up in the backwoods of West Virginia.  During his youth he played football, baseball, and wrestled and spent time learning to hunt from is uncle and grandfather.  After high school, Derick attended Fairmont State University and graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant program.

He wanted more and enlisted in the Army. He was assigned as a medic to 3rd Ranger Battalion and spent his entire military career there.  While on his last deployment, Derick decided to give knife making a try when he got back home.  He instantly fell in love with the art and transformed this side project into a full-fledged business.

Derick is the HLE resident blacksmith/bladesmith, medical SME, and has been a frequent guest on the podcast.

Derick looks like the goat dude from Narnia.

Operations/ Membership Coordinator

Kerri McAllister

Kerri was born into a military family and travelled the world with at a young age. Getting to explore new places sparked a fire within him and he learned to embrace his adventurous side.

Upon graduating high school, Kerri joined the Army and spent his entire 20 plus year career in Fort Bragg, NC. He served as an Airborne Infantryman, Special Forces Weapons Sergeant, and a Special Forces Intelligence Sergeant. While training at the Special Warfare Center and Schools THOR3 program he discovered Strongman and has since competed in strongman, powerlifting, and highland games.

Coming off of his ninth deployment Kerri was dealing with several injuries which were exacerbated by an airborne operation gone wrong. He was told he would have to spend the last few years of his career behind a desk. This prompted a teammate to convince him to buy a bow and put him in a tree stand on opening morning in NC. Kerri never saw a deer but had a small black bear walk under his stand, from that exact moment he was hooked for life.

Kerri lives with his wife, Holly, in Kentucky, helping to support her military career the way she supported his. He has a ninja for a son, a ballerina for a daughter, and 4 dogs.

He currently handles Operations and Membership for Hunt Lift Eat.

Yes, his entire personality revolves around his previous profession, he doesn't give a shit.

Events Coordinator

Keifer Rogers

Keifer was born in the “south” roughly 100 miles below the Mason Dixon line. At a young age his family moved to Gettysburg, PA where he spent the majority of his childhood dodging ghosts and history buffs, like Luke and Carter, except for a small stint that his family lived in England. Growing up, hunting wasn’t apart of Keifer's life. Sports were the priority. He played football, soccer, hockey, snowboarding, and skateboarding! The concussions make sense now.

After high school Keifer’s best friend introduced him to public land whitetail hunting and he has been hooked ever since. Keifer has lived in, traveled, and hunted several states across the US and is on a lifetime mission to shoot a deer in all 50 states. Hunting changed Keifer’s life in many ways, from the way he trains in the gym to his career. Thats how HLE came into the picture. Wanting to connect, find community, and experience every culture that hunting has to offer Keifer joined the Team in 2022.

Considering himself a jack of all trades, Keifer has tested the waters in many different jobs over the years, but one thing that always rings true is his love for people and customer satisfaction! Keifer is currently working as a professional big game hunting guide and booking hunting and fishing trips for outfitters worldwide. Keifer also works for HLE as part of the events crew!

Keifer wanted us to say that he has the best mustache on road crew regardless of what Kerri or Garrett may think. *Alexia play "You’re So Vain"*

If something is wrong with your order, it's his fault.

Podcast Manager

Cole Ried

Cole grew up all over the United States as an Army brat but spent most of his time in the DC metro area. Even though Cole grew up in the outdoors camping and fishing, hunting didn’t become as passion for him until recently in 2019. He has now hunted Whitetail deer, Mule deer, Elk, & Antelope in various states such as Georgia, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, & Virginia.

Being a relatively new hunter, Cole enjoys spending time learning new ways to introduce game meat into his life and sharing it with others. Cole also has a passion of educating people on hunting and conservationism overall.

Cole is currently pursuing his master’s degree in international affairs and political science while working for a consulting firm based out of the DC Metro area.

Outside of hunting and fishing Cole enjoys training for half-marathons, and spending time in his garden growing enough vegetables to share with his friends and family. Cole lives in Greenville, SC with his girlfriend and 2 German Shorthaired Pointer’s.

Cole habitually forgets to hit record on podcasts. There's nothing like recording the same podcast 3 times in a row.

Virtual Training Lead

Bobby McCready

Bobby is a redneck stuck in New Jersey. He grew up upland and small game hunting and slowly started to learn all aspects of hunting. He may not be the best hunter in the woods, but he sure does take killer selfies sitting in a tree.

Bobby has 3 short hair pointers and spends most of his life catering to them. He also runs a non profit in his home state to help more people get off the couch and into the woods. He used to be a fat bastard. So he woke up one day, changed his lifestyle, and began to get his ass in shape. When you talk to him, your first thought will be “I want whatever this dude's on.” It’s not cocaine, he's just high on living and loves a good laugh.

Product Reviews

Daniel Reitz

Daniel grew up a farm kid in Northern Colorado. He is from a family of avid hunters and was introduced to bowhunting at a very young age. When Dan was 3 years old his grandfather put him in a tree stand with a bow and thought him to shoot at 3D targets. This sparked Daniels passion for archery.

Since then, Dan has worked in several archery pro shops as a coach and technician. He truly enjoys helping other archers grow and learn.

In his free time Daniel shoots archery competitively, chases game all over the US, and works hard to stay physically and mentally strong. He is always thinking about bugling bulls and September.

Dan currently lives in Colorado with his stunning wife, Jessie.

Chad joined HLE because he thought the community was amazing and he knew it would provide his family with the kind of outdoors life opportunity that he had always dreamed of for them.
